Wheat export sales this past week were only 158,938 tonnes. This was THE lowest sale in history for this specific week. The trade estimate was 200,000 - 650,000.
USDA’s 825 million bushel new crop export goal, for the year that started June 1, is -2% from the five year average sale. Year to date sales are even with the average. To meet USDA's goal remaining sales can run even with the average through next May. This week's sharply disappointing activity was -46% from average. While we suggest US sales should eventually exceed USDA's goal, they are behind.
