USDA reported 80,720 tonnes for last week’s wheat export sales activity. The trade estimate was -100,000 to +250,000.
USDA’s 710 million bushel export goal, for the year that started June 1, is -20% from the five year average sale. To hit this goal, with US wheat donations, we only need sales of 674. Year to date sales are -17% from average and total 692. Officially, sales have met USDA's goal. However, there is a lot of unknown with this. We don't know the exact amount of donation for this year.
But our focus is on shipments rather than sales. Year to date shipments are -18%. Needed shipments through May need to improve to +19% from average. That goal was met for now three weeks. This week was +36%. Allendale is even with USDA's whole-year view.
