We now have sales and shipping data through May 30. The old crop wheat marketing year ends on May 31.
USDA’s 720 million bushel export goal, for the year that started June 1, is -19% from the five year average sale. Year to date shipments are -16% from average and total 681. To hit this goal, with normal US wheat donations, we need shipments of 639. We may have shipped over the needed goal. One complication with wheat exports at the end of the year is the unknown of final donation numbers. Each year's amount varies.
New crop bookings, for the year that starts June 1, are actually not bad. They are 7% over the five year average.
