Growing corn export sales miss showing.

Weekly export sales today cover Fri 3/29 – Thu 4/4 activity.

Sales of 325,479 tonnes were reported. The trade estimate was 750,000 – 1,300,000. This was the worst sale for this week in 11 years.

USDA’s current 2.100 billion bushel goal for the year would be -2% from the five year average pace. Our year to date sales are -6% from average. To meet USDA’s goal remaining sales need to run +30% vs. the five year average. This week was -69%. We have 12 weeks that have run -7% with the five year average. If sales “improve” to even with last year we'll miss USDA's goal by 71 million bushels.
