273,980 tonnes were sold in this week. The trade estimate was 250,000 - 500,000.
USDA’s 825 million bushel new crop export goal, for the year that started June 1, is -2% from the five year average sale. Year to date sales are +2% vs. average. To meet USDA's goal remaining sales can fall to -1% vs. average through next May. Today's sale was -34% vs. average. The prior four weeks were also low at -23%. Wheat sales started the year off with a bang. We now have five weeks of sales that, despite our price advantage vs. competitors, are clearly behind USDA's goal.
