Ethanol production stalls for a fourth week.

Weekly ethanol production has taken a different turn for now four weeks.

This past week's run, 965,000 barrels per day, was even with the prior year. This marks four weeks in a row with much lowered rate of activity. Year to date production slips to +4.0% from one year ago. This is under USDA's +4.3% whole-year goal with corn for ethanol. Separate from a consideration over efficiency the remainder of the year now has to run +5.0%. At some point in the months ahead we may see USDA revise their current estimate.

This past week's gasoline usage was low at -5.4% from one year ago. Year to date usage is -0.4%.
