Ethanol production from Saturday 1/20 - Friday 1/26 was counted at 991,000 million barrels per day. That was lagging last year by -3.6% in the same week. Lingering bitterly cold weather in the Midwest was still an issue for the Saturday and Sunday start to the week.
USDA's corn for ethanol goal is strong at 5.375 billion bushels, +3.8% from last year. Given quite strong production rates in December USDA upped their view in January by 50 million bushels. Our September 1 to current rate is +3.5% from one year ago including our two recent problem weeks. To meet USDA's goal the remainder of the year needs to run +4.0%. Allendale is currently at USDA's whole-year corn for ethanol estimate.
