Weekly export sales today cover Fri 2/2 – Thu 2/8 activity.
Sales of 1,306,889 tonnes were reported. The trade estimate was 800,000 – 1,500,000. USDA’s current 2.100 billion bushel goal for the year would be -2% from the five year average pace. Our year to date sales are -5% from average. To meet USDA’s goal remaining sales need to run +6% vs. the five year average. The prior three weeks were lightly disappointing. This week, normally a week of declining sales, was just fine at +26% from average. US export prices have moved to a light disadvantage to Brazil when considering their shipping advantage. Allendale is currently at USDA's export view.
