Cattle weights stabilize. Bump in hog weights is showing.

The weekly Actual Slaughter report detailed meat production statistics for the last week of May.

Dressed steer weights increased +4 lbs. to 924. Heifer weights posted a decline though, -4 lbs. to 842. Compared with last year, steer weights were unchanged at +37 lbs. Last year had a similar bounce in weights in this week. Heifer weights though, fell from +29 lbs. to +26.

Weights were adding +4.0% to beef production separate from slaughter numbers. They are currently +3.8%.

Dressed barrow/gilt weights increased +1 lb. in this week to 214. Compared with last year they grew from +2 to now +3 lbs. Weights are now adding +1.4% to pork production separate from slaughter numbers.
