Cattle weights slightly improve.

The weekly Actual Slaughter report covered meat production statistics for the second week of June.

In this week dressed steer weights dropped -1 lb. from the prior week to 917. Heifers were off -2 to 836. Compared with last year they also lightly slipped. Steers went from +36 lbs. to now +35. Heifers gained from +26 to now +27.

Weights have minimally improved from three weeks ago when they were +4.0% from last year. Current levels are +3.7%.

Dressed barrow/gilt weights in this week fell -1 lb. to now 212. Compared with last year there was no change at +3 lbs. Hog weights are adding 1.4% to production separate from slaughter numbers.
